INXS Drummer, Jon Farriss Debuts Solo Project
Australian based Pearl Artist, Jon Farriss, has released his very first solo project, a self-titled effort, which comes after four decades dedicated to his main and most notable project, INXS. The first single released, “Smokin Joe”, which can be seen and heard below, is a collaborative effort with one of the greatest talents in cricketing history, Sir Vivian Richard, and falls into a different musical style and genre that Jon Farriss has been involved with in the past. In regards to the response of “Smokin Joe”, Jon Farriss states:
“The response to the song thus far has been nothing short of incredible. I could never have anticipated the amount of enthusiasm the sporting community would have toward the song, from Shane Warne to Michael Clarke the cricketing world have truly embraced and pushed the song to a viral level. I’ve also been thrilled to see many warm responses from the media rolling in!”
For the recording of “Smokin Joe” Jon Farriss turned to his beautiful Reference Series drums, in the stunning White Marine Pearl wrap, and topped with a 14x6.5 Sensitone Elite Brass snare drum. Jon Farriss’ full Reference Series kit specs can be found here.
