Dream Theater’s Mike Mangini to Perform at Guitar Center Drum-Off Grand Finals

Pearl Artist and drumming mastermind, Mike Mangini, has announced his involvement in Guitar Center’s 26th annual Drum Off Grand Finals, where he will perform a guaranteed-must-see set filled with the crazy time signatures, ridiculous speed, and remarkable ambidexterity that has become synonymous with his name.  The ceremonious culmination of a countrywide drumming competition, the 2016 Guitar Center Drum Off Grand Finals will feature the nation’s five finest yet-to-be-discovered drummers facing off for the chance to win a massive prize package that includes cash, gear, endorsement deals, and more.  The night will also include performances from some of the world’s finest professional drummers like Mike Mangini- and will also include a special ceremony inducting Vic Firth and Jim Keltner into Guitar Center's famed RockWalk.

Mike Mangini, a longstanding member of the Pearl Drums Artist Roster, is currently gearing up for a massive world tour with Dream Theater, which will first hit the European market from February 18th - March 23rd and then conquering the North American markets shortly following, from April 14th - May 11th.  This lengthy run comes in support of Dream Theater's upcoming and thirteenth studio album, The Astonishing, a double-album that is scheduled to be released on January 29th, courtesy of Roadrunner Records.  More information on Dream Theater, including a full list of tour dates and ticketing information, can be found at www.DreamTheater.net.

For his Drum Off performance, Mike Mangini will be relying upon his preferred Reference Pure shells- the thin-plied version of Pearl’s innovative Reference Series line- complete with a matching 14x6.5 Reference Pure snare drum, and surrounded by a massively-complex ICON Rack System.  More information on Mike Mangini, including his kit specs, can be found here.
