Device Confirmed for 2013 Gigantour
Rock fans, rejoice! Device will finally be embarking on a full scale US tour! The rock super-group featuring members of Disturbed, Evanescence, and Filter, who we’ve all been hearing about and anxiously awaiting, were recently announced to be scheduled on this year’s Gigantour! This, the 5th annual Gigantour serves as one of, if not thee, premier hard rock/metal festival tour of today, hosting past bands like Dream Theater, Volbeat, Lacuna Coil, Children of Bodom, Fear Factory, and several more of today’s finest hard-hitting bands. Although the dates and official announcement have yet to be released, Device’s involvement on this year’s run has been confirmed by the tour’s founder, Dave Mustaine, of Megadeth fame, as a form of teaser leading up to the tour’s official statement.
The 2013 Giagantour will serve as Device’s first full-scale US tour, coming in support of their debut self-titled album which was released earlier this month. Device, the album, features the hit song, “Vilify”, which has screamed up the rock charts to take a steady position in the Top 5 of the Active Rock Charts, currently residing in the No. 5 position. On the album’s release day, this all-star lineup- consisting of Disturbed vocalist, David Draiman, Filter’s Geno Lenardo, and Pearl artist Will Hunt, of Evanescence and Black Label Society fame- unveiled their impeccable live show, embarking on a short US tour filled with major festival stops and radio shows, with a few headlining dates thrown into the mix as well.
The current Device tour gave Will Hunt the opportunity to unveil his monstrous Masterworks Series/Epro Live drum set, to help him achieve the industrial-rock sound Device is tearing up the charts with. Will’s Masterworks Series kit, which was also used throughout Evanescence’s most recent World Tour, consists of Reference Series shell specs, which offer the ideal mid range and low tones for the rock sections of Device’s songs, with hovering rack toms outfitted with Tru Trac Drumheads that float above his kit, and trigger various electronic sounds throughout the set. Will’s full setup is as follows:
Flat Black lacquer
w/ black hardware
22x18 bass drum x2
16x16 floor tom
18x16 floor tom
14x6.5 Ultracast snare drum
(4) 10x8 tom w/ Tru Trac drum head
