311 Releases In-Studio Teasers from 'Stereolithic' Sessions

In anticipation for their upcoming album, Stereolithic, legendary jam-rockers 311 have been sporadically releasing in-studio teaser videos from their most recent writing and recording sessions, delighting fans with some slight hints as to how the new album will sound. The first 2 videos in 311’s ‘Making of Stereolithic’ video series can be found on the band’s official Facebook page, which can be found here

These online teaser-videos are leading up to the release of Stereolithic, which is scheduled to be released on March 11th (3/11/2014), coinciding with the band’s bi-yearly ‘311 Day’ celebration.  Stereolithic stands as 311’s eleventh studio album, along with being the band’s first fully independent album since 1998’s Omaha Sessions.  For more information on 311, and to pre-order the new album, please be sure to visit www.311.com.  Also be sure to check out the band’s first single from Stereolithic, “Five of Everything”, which can be heard below.

Throughout the recording of the new album, 311 drummer, Pearl artist, and producer of Stereolithic- Chad Sexton, turned to the undeniably harmonic tones of his Reference Series drums, relying on the varying shell combinations, bearing edges, and differing shell thicknesses, as described in the Reference Series Recipe, to achieve that unmistakable and classic 311 sound.  More information on Chad, along with pictures of his gorgeous Reference Series drums can be found here.
