Ted Brown Music is a full-service music store company based in Tacoma, Washington. With five stores across the state of Washington (Tacoma, Silverdale, Puyallup, Yakima, and Richland), Ted Brown Music has been one of the leading names in music retail, rental, repair and instruction for over 80 years.

Over the decades, Ted Brown has been a proud Pearl dealer. Each of their stores is stocked with a variety of Pearl drums and hardware.

Ted Brown Music has a number of drum/percussion specialists on staff. Tacoma drum specialist, Dave Heath, is celebrating his 25th year in drum/percussion sales, and assists other stores with product knowledge and support. When not at work, Dave is an active member of his worship team and performs regularly on Seattle’s premier Argosy Cruises. “Pearl has always been a solid, consistent brand,” Dave says.

In addition to sales, instruction is offered at all Ted Brown Music locations. There are a total of 11 private drum instructors who teach at Ted Brown Music. Instructors teach at a variety of skill levels and prepare students for school band, or for playing music on their own.

Ted Brown Music is also host to a variety of educational clinics throughout the year. Artists as diverse as Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, clarinetist Julian Bliss and the horn section for Tower of Power have performed and taught at the stores. Notable percussionists who have hosted clinics over the years, as well as local drum luminaries like Garey Williams.
