Michael Butler has had a passion for music all his life and realized his natural talent at an early age.   At the age of 4 he picked up his first set of sticks at and was able to perfect his talent playing at grandparent’s church in his hometown of Orlando, FL.  Over the years Michael built a reputation as an outstanding drummer in the Central Florida area and has played for various events and venues through the vicinity.  In 2005 Michael became part of Akon’s Konvict family and has been the sole drummer for Akon since.

His musical skill has been captured on the Akon album “Konvicted” in “Mama Africa” and “Never Took the Time” album tracks. Michael has made appearances on Jay Leno,  Jimmy Kimmel Live, Saturday Night Live, MTV Europe Music Awards, and TRL just to name a few.  He has also played live in concert for various artists and at the celebrated Live Earth Concert.

Over the past few years Michael has had the opportunity to share his gift with fans all over the world and will continue to flourish on the musical gift he has been blessed with.
