Black Label Society Live at The RoxyBlack Label Society Live at The Roxy8/23/2010Black Label Society plays a special benefit show to celebrate the release of their new album.Tuesday, August 10th was a monumental day for Pearl artist, Will Hunt, and Black Label Society. With the release of their 8th studio album, “Order of the Black”, Black Label Society held an in store signing at Best Buy in Los Angeles before playing an exclusive, and very sold out, concert at the infamous Roxy Nightclub on the Sunset Strip. The special concert, whose proceeds were donated to the St. Jude Medical Center, was a celebration of the new album, and served as a special tour kickoff party before Black Label Society heads out to headline the Monster Energy Stage throughout the 2010 Ozzfest dates.

Order of the Black marked the first studio album that Pearl artist, Will Hunt, recorded with Black Label Society. Will, whose resume includes bands such as Evanescence, Skrape, Crossfade, Methods of Mayhem, and Vince Neil, was the obvious choice for Zakk Wylde, and the rest of BLS, when it came to writing and recording Order of the Black. Will’s explosive playing and hard hitting, along with his flawless timing and thunderous tom work, seemed to blend perfectly into the already existent musical chemistry of the other members and, to the less informed BLS fans, Will’s playing seemed as if he had been holding down the throne behind BLS for years.

Will is currently out slamming away on a Pearl Reference Series kit in Piano Black (#103). His set up consists of two 22x18 kick drums, a single 12x8 rack tom, and it’s finished with a 16x16 and 18x16 floor tom. For a snare drum, Will is currently switching between a 14x6.5, 20 ply, Reference Series snare, and a 14x6.5 maple free floater. Although new to the Pearl family, Will is certainly no stranger to the tonal quality of Pearl’s Reference Series of drums. Even with a single rack tom, the shell configuration throughout the Reference Series allows for Will to achieve the highs and body necessary from the maple/birch shell of his 12x8, while easily rounding out the overall sound of the kit with the lows from the mahogany/maple of his 16” and 18” floor toms.

In support of the new album Order of the Black Will, and Black Label Society, will be headlining the Monster Energy Stage throughout the 2010 Ozzfest Festival from August 14th- August 31st. Shortly after, Black Label Society will continue throughout the US for a 2 month long headlining run titled “The Black Label Berzerkus”.
